These are a must for any Kobe fan. The black leather upper with the white Swoosh hits different, and the purple midsole makes the whole shoe pop. The full-length Zoom Air cushioning is a game-changer too — these are just as comfortable to walk in as they are to hoop in. Copped a pair to ball in and a pair to keep on ice.
The Purple Reign is a sleeper colorway. The black and purple combo is clean without being too loud, and the white Swoosh gives it that perfect contrast. The leather is buttery — way better than some of the other Protro releases. These are getting heavy rotation in my lineup, for sure.
The Kobe 1 Protro is one of the best retros Nike has done, and this colorway proves it. The carbon fiber shank gives you that lockdown feel on the court, and the full-length Zoom makes them comfortable enough to wear all day. The purple midsole is a nice nod to the Lakers without being too on-the-nose.
The fit on these is true to size — I went with my usual 10.5 and they're spot on. The only reason I'm knocking a star is the break-in period. The leather is stiff out the box and took about a week of wear to really mold to my feet. Once they broke in though, they became my go-to for the gym. Solid pickup overall.
The Purple Reign has that OG feel — reminds me of the Blackout sample that never released. The white Swoosh and gold accents give it that premium look. The full-length Zoom makes them one of the most comfortable basketball sneakers I've ever worn. Mamba mentality on feet.
I've been waiting for these to retro. The Purple Reign colorway is iconic and the Protro upgrades — full-length Zoom, improved traction — make them better than the OG. The black upper is durable and the white Swoosh pops. These are versatile enough to wear on and off the court. Definitely worth the cop.
The Purple Reign is a clean colorway but I do wish the purple was a bit more vibrant — it's more of a deep plum than a bright purple. Still, the quality is there. The leather is premium and the full-length Zoom makes them comfortable for casual wear. If you're a Kobe fan, these are a no-brainer.
